The sentiment from packers remains, that farmers feel there is enough demand for
whole apricots at current levels to keep prices firm. This is coupled with the fact that
apricots are returning to levels more in line with historical averages. Exports to end of
October finished at approximately 9% above same time last year; at 30,000mt. This is an
increase on what we have seen in the first two months of the new season. Those who
hold stocks think that prices should rise in sympathy of the weakening TRL to match
USD prices.
