The price for Macadamia kernel continues to increase. We will see yet another increase
this season and this will continue as long as global demand still outstrips supply.
The crop is down compared to the estimates that were published. This is mainly due to
kernel recovery. The 2018 crop recovery was 33% and this year is expected to be only
around 26-27%.
Due to the extreme hot weather in the growing regions the overall kernel size will be
average. The majority of kernel sales have been committed overseas already as it
attracts a premium.
