The Californian market is off to a slow start in 2018 with not much demand being

experienced so far. High halve count product represents excellent value at the moment

as packers are very light on pieces while halves are in great supply due to the excellent

quality of the short crop.

In China, prices continue to inch up slowly as the crop is consumed. In Chile, the

weather has been good so far; there was plenty of rain in the winter so water is readily

available and there has been no excessive heat at this stage.
